Beginning Experience of Connecticut was founded in 2007 by the now Executive Director of Beginning Experience International Ministry, Yvonne Stoops.  After attending her first weekend with the Long Island chapter, she requested to start a chapter here in Connecticut.  With the help of other chapters in the Northeast region, we have been hosting weekends twice a year from 2007 until now.

Our weekend retreats assist the widowed, divorced and separated go through the grieving process so that you can find hope, and start a new beginning.  The truth is no one has to suffer alone and although life may never be the same, it can be good again....very good.  We are here to help, just give us ONE Weekend.  You will meet people who have gone through the same things you are going through.  We know how you feel because we have felt it and lived through it.  We are a peer ministry, which means that all the team members are widowed and or divorced.  We will share with you how we came to terms with our loss and how we have moved forward with our lives but what is even more important is that we will listen.

Our Weekend Program Transforms Lives.
It makes a real difference.  Adults become more effective parents, they develop healthier family relationships, and they begin to deal with the pain of their loss, their anger and so more.

Beginning Experience Vision

…a hurting people, healed, transformed, and free again to love themselves, others, and God.

Beginning Experience® Mission

The purpose of the Beginning Experience ministry is to facilitate the grief resolution process for separated, divorced and widowed persons, and children of these losses, thereby enabling them to again love themselves, others and God. We accomplish the purpose by offering quality, copyrighted, grief resolution programs presented by trained peer ministers. These programs are designed to move grieving people through a transformational process to a new beginning in their lives

We believe that through resolving the grief of a significant loss:

o   Individuals participate in the death and resurrection of Christ as he lives in the world today;

o   Those working through this experience can effectively walk with others for whom the experience is new and hard; and that

The invitation to recover offers an opportunity for transforming one’s life, and for freeing individuals to love self, others and God in new and deeper ways.
